Youngstown Community Garden Ramps Up Production with a Tunnel Vision Hoops High Tunnel

Urban Community Victory Garden, located in Warren, Ohio, is a community garden that is truly "grassroots" in nature. Growing steadily over the past two years the garden reached a point where it decided that season extension efforts were needed. Over 80 plots for members of the Warren community checker the landscape full of every crop from okra and peanuts to tomatoes and kale.

TVH was hired to fabricate and install a 20 ft. wide x 48 ft. long High Tunnel Hoop House for the community members in Warren, OH. Standard truss and truss supports, front storm door, and easy roll-up sides now give Community gardeners at the Urban Community Victory Garden the ability to familiarize themselves with growing in a season extension structure. Whether focusing on the colder months of the year with cold loving crops, using as a start-house, or growing warm loving plants in a protected environment throughout the summer, these community gardeners now have access to the means to do so.
