Blackberry's or Raspberries - Why not Both?1? Brickel Creek Organic Berry Farm gets Two TVH Tunnels
Brickel Creek Organic Berry Farm, located in rural Jamestown, Ohio, recently purchased two 20 ft. x 58 ft. High Tunnel Hoop Houses with a number of features that will help Brickel Creek Owner / Operator Sue Borton expand the capacity and scope of her farm's production. Sue Borton's farm officially became the site of the first Tunnel Vision Hoops systems to be built outside the 16 county Northeast Ohio region. In addition to the "out of town" nature of these jobs Sue hired TVH to complete the installations as opposed to purchasing DIY Kits. This gave us at TVH the opportunity to spend some quality time at the farm while completing her tunnels.
Since we are always looking to cut costs for our customers, and complete jobs in a timely manner, we decided to offer up the idea of sleeping at the farm during the installation. Sue agreed to host us, and from the beginning of the install through project completion Sue was a fantastic host. Her hospitality and companionship at breakfast and dinner were beyond appreciated, and her home decor was on par with any other Bed and Breakfast in the State.
The two tunnels at Brickel Creek Organic Berry Farm have an All-Season Retractable Dome End Wall on one end of the tunnel and a galvanized steel end wall at the other end. Above each door there is a solar opening aluminum shutter to help with system ventilation. Each tunnel was also fitted out with TVH Greenhouse Spacer Blocks and a second layer of 6 mil Infrared Anti-Condensate Greenhouse Poly to create an 8 inch dead airspace between the growing environment and the world outside. The tunnels at Brickel Creek Organic Berry Farm are set up to function "off the grid".
